Our Stories

The Nooksack language[1], Lhéchelesem[2], carries the wisdom, humor, and[18] worldview of our people[6], and[18] keeping it alive[8] ensures that[11] future generations can continue to find[17] strength in their roots. These recordings of our elders[4] are voices from[12] the past[14] and[18] by listening, learning, and[18] sharing, we[21] honor their legacy and[18] keep the spirit[5] of Lhéchelesem[2] present in our community today[7].
